(Voting right) To be qualified as an active member of the Association, the applicant must have completed a formal training programme in his/her field, or practice in Africa, and display a professional interest in the study or treatment of cleft lip/palate.
Such qualified professionals may include audiologists, speech therapists, orthodontists, prosthodontists, maxillofacial surgeons, plastic surgeons, paediatric surgeons, general surgeons, Paediatricians, Dieticians, Nutritionists, Anaesthetists, Otorhinolaryngologists, community health physicians, nurses, social workers, and psychologists.
Where the applicant’s field of professional endeavor does not have a formal training program, the Executive Council will review the applicant’s field of professional qualifications to determine if they are consistent with the purposes of the Association.
